Mexico, 2024 – Salvage operation stalled ship
On Sept. 7, 2024, an emergency occurred aboard a work vessel. At the time, the work vessel was in the process of constructing a pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico. During a storm, the ship’s tow rope broke, leaving the vessel adrift. The storm pushed the ship toward the coast after which it ran aground in shallow water, near the port of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. On board were 132 crew members. The crew members were disembarked as quickly as possible. The vessel was pulled loose and salvaged. The Corporate Travel Clinic was requested to provide medical supervision for the reception of the crew members and medical supervision during the salvage of the vessel.
