Mexico, 2024 – Salvage operation stalled ship
On Sept. 7, 2024, an emergency occurred aboard a work vessel. At the time, the work vessel was in the process of constructing a pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico. During a hurricane, the ship’s tow rope broke, causing the vessel to capsize and run aground just off the coast of Mexico, near the port of Coatzacoalcos. On board were 132 crew members. The crew members were disembarked as soon as possible. The vessel was pulled loose and salvaged. The Corporate Travel Clinic was requested to provide medical care for the crew members during the ship’s salvage.
